Currently in Seattle — June 14, 2024: Showers, gusty winds, snow in the mountains

Plus, new ways to support our independent climate journalism

The weather, currently.

Weekend showers, better weather Sunday.

The return of Juneuary! On Friday, things will start to cloud up after 11 a.m., and we’ve got a chance of showers in the afternoon and a high of 65. Overnight, temps drop to a chilly 36 degrees 🥶, and we will likely see showers and wind gusts as high as 18 mph.

Saturday will bring more of the same: a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, a high of 60 with overnight lows at 40 degrees. Sunday also has a chance of showers and similar temperatures, but there’s a better chance of seeing the sunshine.

If you had mountain hiking in your Sunday (or Father’s Day) plans, pack your rain gear and warm drinks, as we’ll see possible thunderstorms (and a chance of snow on the higher passes!) in the Cascades and Olympics. Seeking sun? Head over the crest — there’s sunshine to be found as close as Cle Elum or Lake Wenatchee.
