Currently in Seattle — July 8, 2024: Highs in the 90s

The weather, currently.

So, are we melting yet? Bad news first: we’re in for another couple days of this heat and relentless sunshine. Monday’s high will top out around the low 90s. 

The good news is that the overnight lows are still dropping into the mid-60’s, so if your home-cooling strategy relies on open windows and box fans, it’s still possible to cool things off at night. Washington’s new protections for outdoor workers in hot weather should help keep our neighbors safer this week, too.

See you after work on the beach along with the rest of Seattle? Either that or at the library or in freezer section of the grocery store, restocking on popsicles. (Not sure it’s worth heading into the hills...the heat forecast is equally bad up at Snoqualmie.)
