Currently in Seattle — August 12, 2024: Mediocre meteor weather

The weather, currently.

While the Perseids are peaking Sunday night into early Monday morning, Seattle may not be the best place to spot the show.

Overnight clouds will persist late into Monday morning, decreasing in the afternoon for some sunshine, and then building back up again on Monday night.

The clouds may block out the best of the star show, but they will also keep temperatures more in Seattle-summer norms, with a high of 72. I’m not embarrassed to admit that I already have my wool sweater and shorts combo picked out.
